About Master Eric Sbarge, Director, The Peaceful Dragon

The authentic and traditional classes offered at The Peaceful Dragon's Zen Super Boot Camp are all taught or supervised by Master Eric Sbarge, founder and full-time head instructor of The Peaceful Dragon since 1997.

Master Sbarge has spent nearly 35 years training intensively in traditional Zen, Taoism, martial arts, qigong, yoga and meditation, primarily at the A.C.C.S. (American Center for Chinese Studies) headquarters in New York and at the Chuan Yen Monastery in upstate New York.

He is expert in several methods of Taoist and Ch'an (Zen) meditation, yoga, and qigong for health and self-development. In 2001 he was honored as one of a handful of A.C.C.S. instructors to be promoted to Master Level instructor.

Master Sbarge was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Oustanding Kung Fu Master in 2005.

He began his studies of Eastern approaches to health and well-being as a teenager while practicing Japanese karate and Zen meditation. For the past 30 years he has practiced the Chinese arts of Shaolin kung fu, shuai chiao grappling, tai chi and the related internal martial arts of pakua and hsing-i under the direction of Grandmaster Ma Foren (Frank DeMaria.) Grandmaster Ma Foren, who has trained in meditation, Chinese martial arts and qigong with several world-renowned teachers for over 50 years, is the adopted son of one of the most famous and skilled tai chi and kung fu masters of the 20th century, the legendary Ch'ang Dung Sheng.

Master Sbarge has published dozens of articles on tai chi, kung fu, herbal medicine, fitness and related topics in such leading magazines as Black Belt and Inside Kung Fu, and he's assisted in the production of numerous books and videos on tai chi and Chinese martial arts. Succeeding in weight-loss is actually simple once you understand a few key scientific facts about your body, your mind, and the 80/20 principle.

First, let me tell you a simple fact about YOUR BODY:

There's nothing wrong with it!

Nature may have given you a thin body or a thick one, a tall one or a short one—it doesn't matter. All body types are beautiful. But all types of bodies can start carrying too much weight and get out of shape, and then you don't feel beautiful or handsome, you don't like the way you look, and you sure don't feel as healthy and energetic as you'd like to.

Well here's some good news: Just as any type of body can gain weight and get out of shape, any type of body can shed that weight and become fit again!

Before going any further, I urge you not to make excuses for yourself about slow metabolism, or unbalanced hormones, or the wrong genetics - these are merely small bumps in the road, not road blocks. It's true that some people's bodies gain weight more easily than others. But when you blame body characteristics for your weight gain, YOU GIVE UP CONTROL OF YOUR BODY. When you accept and TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BODY, then you're ready to coast right over the bumps in the road and lose the extra weight easily regardless of your body characteristics.

So that there is no confusion, you can successfully get fit and lose your excess weight regardless of your genetics, hormones, metabolism or body type. I'm not going to ask you to do ... no, let me re-phrase that ... I'm not going to allow you to do a traditional exercise program with me
